What we teach, what we look for, and how the application works.
What programmes do you offer?
Undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes across nine faculties — engineering, computing, business, science, health, the arts, social sciences, education and law. Every course is built with industry input and assessed through applied work rather than exams alone.
What are the entry requirements?
Completed secondary education or a recognised equivalent for your chosen level, evidence of English proficiency for international applicants, a personal statement and one academic or professional reference. We assess every application in the round, so a shortfall in one area can be offset by strength in another.
How do I apply?
Choose a programme, submit the online application with your details and a personal statement, attend a short interview, then receive and confirm your offer. The whole thing takes about ten minutes to start, and you can save and return to it. Our Admissions page walks you through every step.
Can I apply to more than one programme?
Yes. You can name up to three programmes on a single application and we consider you for each in the order you list them. There is no additional fee, and being unsuccessful for your first choice does not affect the others.
Do I have to attend the interview in person?
No. Interviews are offered online or on campus, whichever suits you, and both carry exactly the same weight. They last around twenty minutes and are a conversation about your interests rather than a test.

When are the application deadlines?
The September intake closes 31 July and the January intake closes 30 November. Offers are issued on a rolling basis, so earlier applications are assessed sooner and give you more time to arrange funding and housing.
When will I hear back?
Most applicants receive a decision within ten working days of submitting a complete application. Programmes that require a portfolio or an audition can take a little longer, and we will tell you if that applies to you.
Can I defer my place?
Yes. Once you hold an offer you can request a deferral of up to one year, and any scholarship award is deferred with it. Just let admissions know before the enrolment deadline.
Do you accept credit from another university?
In most cases, yes. Send us your transcript and module descriptions and the faculty will map them against our programme. Successful transfers usually join in the second year.
Fees, Funding and International

Is financial support available?
Yes. We offer merit scholarships worth up to 40% of tuition awarded automatically on academic performance, means-tested bursaries towards living costs, interest-free payment plans across the year, and a hardship fund for students whose circumstances change mid-course.
How much is tuition?
Undergraduate tuition is 9,250 a year for home students and 15,400 for international students; postgraduate taught programmes are 11,800. Fees are held for the duration of your programme once you enrol, and most can be paid by monthly instalment.
Can international students apply?
Absolutely — we welcome applicants from around the world, and our students come from 78 countries. Apply at least three months before your intake to allow time for visa processing, and a dedicated international team supports you through every document.
Is accommodation guaranteed?
Every first-year student who accepts an offer by the deadline is guaranteed a place in university halls, all within a ten-minute walk of teaching. Returning students apply through a separate ballot, and the accommodation office helps with private housing.
What support is there once I arrive?
Wellbeing, disability and academic support are available to every student with same-week appointments, alongside a personal tutor who stays with you for the whole degree and a careers service you can use from your first term.
